One of my favorite scenes was when Sean serenaded Beth with his new song, and after appearing touched and speechless, Beth proceeds to critique the bridge. And let me just say, Katie absolutely stole the spotlight in this movie! The dialogue and the acting made this moment and subsequent moments in the auto shop feel so genuine and authentic. We first meet Katie as she is helping her dad fix a car and dispensing a whole lot of loveable sass. However, this plot point is livened up thanks to close attention to details. Widowed single parents are one of Hallmark’s most common tropes, especially at Christmastime.
